DEARBORN, Mich., March 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Carhartt brand ambassador Jordan Lee won the 2017 Bassmaster Classic. After a challenging first day, Lee continued to work hard throughout the weekend and earned himself the world's most respected bass fishing trophy.
"Things didn't start the way I wanted them to, and I knew after the first day that I would have to work extra hard over the weekend if I wanted to be successful. That's what makes this victory so special; I really had to go out there and overcome obstacles to win this tournament," said Lee. "I dreamed of winning the Classic since I was very young, so I'm beyond excited to walk away with the winner's trophy."
Lee caught five bass with a combined weight of 27 pounds, 4 ounces during the final round on Sunday from Lake Conroe, near Houston, giving him a tournament-best total weight of 56-10.
"Carhartt is a brand for hardworking people, and this past weekend, Jordan epitomized what it means to outwork them all in fishing's biggest event," said Tony Ambroza, Carhartt's senior vice president of marketing. "When Jordan's engine troubles forced him to remain in one location on the final day of the Classic, thanks to his incredible work ethic and persistence, he was able to outfish them all."
"I've been wearing the Carhartt brand long-before I was approached by the company to become their official sponsored angler," Lee further adds. "In fact, I won the championship wearing their Force Extremes Cargo Shorts!"
